Joseph G. Gluchowski, 85, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Monday, January 9, 2023, at home.
Born July 24, 1937, in Wilkes-Barre Township, he was the son of the late Anthony and Anna Pikul Gluchowski.
Joseph was a 1955 graduate of Marymount High School, Wilkes-Barre, and served in the United States Army during the Cold War.
He retired from J.C. Ehrlich Pest Control, Ashley.
He was a member of Our Lady of Hope parish, Wilkes-Barre, where he served as an usher.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Anthony.
Surviving are his wife, the former Mary Frankovich, with whom he was married 59 years; children, Mary Jo Woods and her husband, Dr. Michael of Longmeadow, MA, Joseph A. Gluchowski and his wife, Joann of Exton, PA, Nancy Kelly and her husband, Joseph, of Sugar Notch, PA, Andrew J. Gluchowski and his wife, Beth of Plymouth, PA, and Regina Gluchowski and fiancé Kevin Lynch of Toronto, Canada; grandchildren, Abby Hakanson, Matthew Petrosky, Kayla Basehore, Michael Woods, Rachel Woods, Renee Gluchowski, Delaney Woods, Emily Gluchowski, Johnny Gluchowski, Shane Woods, Lauren Gluchowski, Jacob Gluchowski; great-grandchildren, Violet and Daphne Hakanson, and Holden and Alice Petrosky; and sisters, Theresa Klepadlo of Hanover Township, Rose Havira of Wilkes-Barre, Mary Wengyn of Reading, Rita Reilly of Hanover Township, and Catherine Ostrowski of Hanover Township.
Funeral services will be held Saturday at 9:30am from the Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, 21 North Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am at Our Lady of Hope parish, Park Avenue, Wiles-Barre. The Reverend John S. Terry, Pastor, will be Celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Maternity Cemetery, West Wyoming. Family and friends may call Friday from 4:00 to 7:00pm at the funeral home.
