Walter F. Horchheimer

Walter F. Horchheimer, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Monday, September 12, 2022, at the Department of Veteran Affairs Medical Center, Wilkes-Barre. Born May 14, 1934, in New York, NY, he was the son of the late Fred and Laura Shaffer Horchheimer.

Walter was a 1952 graduate of E. L. Meyers High School, Wilkes-Barre, and received his Bachelor Degree in Business from Wilkes College in 1959.He was an Army Veteran of the Korean War and attained the rank of Sergeant.

Walter was employed for over 25 years at Robbins Door and Sash, Wilkes-Barre. and was a member of St. Peter Lutheran Church, Wilkes-Barre. He was preceded in death by his wife, Clair, on June 24, 2017.

Surviving is his daughters, Sandy Dalessandro and her husband, Louis of Wilkes-Barre, and Karen Schmidt and her husband, George of Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren, Christopher, Alexander, and Steven Schmidt, and Amber and Kelly Dalessandro; great grandchildren, Sydney, Anthony, Lily, and Luca who is due next week.

Graveside services with Military Honors will be held Wednesday at 11:00am in Albrt Cemetery, Church Road, Mountain Top.
