Mary Jane Yazbeck

Mary Jane Yazbeck passed away at home on August 14th, 2023, surrounded by her loving family. Born and raised in the Wilkes Barre area with her six siblings, Jane and her husband of 71 years George, were married at St. George – St. Anthony’s Maronite Church where they were active members well into their golden years.

While raising their five children, Jane also helped raise her youngest siblings after the sudden death of her mother.   

Ever the host, Jane’s kitchen exploits were legendary, cooking and baking the Lebanese treats her family and friends loved. Their home was always open to friends and friends of friends, many of whom would become as close as family.

Jane is survived by her brother John, sister in-law Ann, and her children Donna, Joanne, Joseph, Cecilia, and Ann Marie, as well as her 9 grandchildren, 19 great grandchildren, and many loving nieces and nephews.

Funeral Mass will be held on September 30th at 11AM at St. George- St. Anthony’s Maronite Church at 311 Park Ave Wilkes Barre.

In lieu of flowers donations to St. Luke’s Hospice Care in Bethlehem, PA are greatly appreciated.
