William Mishikitis
William Mishikitis, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Tuesday, February 15, 2022, at Wilkes-Barre General Hospital. Born February 10, 1945, in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late William and Florence Bernetski Mishikitis.
William was a 1963 graduate of G.A.R. High School, Wilkes-Barre, and served in the United States Navy for 8 years. Bill was employed at Sandvik Steel for many years and later worked at the Tobyhanna Army Depot for 22 years. He was a member of Our Lady of Hope parish, Wilkes-Barre, and the American Legion, Post 558, Plains. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping in his spare time. He was preceded in death by his parents and by his wife, Theresa in 1999.
Surviving is his brother-in-laws, George Tomko and his wife, Denise of Hanover Township, and Richard Tomko and his wife, Sharon of Wilkes-Barre Township; and several nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Friday at 11:00am at Our Lady of Hope parish, Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre. The Reverend John S. Terry, Pastor, will be Celebrant. Interment with Military Honors will follow in St. Mary's Maternity Cemetery, West Wyoming. Friends may call Friday morning at the church from 10:00am until time of Mass.
