Leonard F. Witczak, of Wilkes-Barre, passed away Thursday, May 30, 2024, at Allied Hospice Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre.
Born March 23, 1938, in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Leo and Catherine Drust Witczak.
Leonard attended Marymount High School, Wilkes-Barre, and served as a mechanic in the United States Army from 1961-63.
He was employed as a mechanic, did various construction work, and retired after many years at Dana Perfume, Mountain Top.
Leonard was a member of Our Lady of Hope parish, Wilkes-Barre, and previously the former Holy Trinity Church, Wilkes-Barre.
Len was a member of the Wyoming Valley Beagle Club, he enjoyed gardening, hunting, fishing, and spending time with his grandkids.
He was preceded in death by his sisters, Geraldine Stuchkus and Catherine Butterworth.
Surviving is his wife, the former Diane Wasilefski, with whom he celebrated 60 years of Marriage of on May 2nd; son, Leonard Witczak Jr. and his wife, Betsy of Wilkes-Barre; grandchildren, Charles and Aiden Witczak; brother, Raymond Witczak and his wife, Catherine of Wilkes-Barre; nieces and nephews.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Tuesday at 11:00am at Our Lady of Hope parish, 40 Park Avenue, Wilkes-Barre. The Reverend John S. Terry, Pastor, will be Celebrant. Interment with Military Honors will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Bear Creek. Friends may call Tuesday morning at the church from 9:00am until time of Mass.
