Stanley B. Rysz

Stanley B. Rysz, of Bear Creek Township, passed away Thursday, November 9, 2023, at Hospice of the Sacred Heart, Dunmore. Born July 6, 1943, in Wilkes-Barre, he was the son of the late Stanley and Bertha Porzuczek Rysz.


Stanley was a 1961 graduate of Marymount High School, Wilkes-Barre. He was employed as a truck driver, most recently at Von Hoekelen Greenhouses, McAdoo.


A devout catholic, he was a member of St. Joseph's Monastery, Wilkes-Barre Township, before its closing, and joined St. Nicholas Church, where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. Stanley was one-of-a-kind. He loved driving and enjoyed buying cars. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, Edward Rysz.


Surviving is his sister, Artemia Kruczek and her husband, Leonard of Bear Creek Township; nephew, Richard Kruczek of Mohnton, PA.; and the family pet, Zasha, who he referred to as the love of his life.


A Mass of Christian Burial will be held Wednesday at 11:00am in St. Nicholas Church, 226 South Washington Street, Wilkes-Barre. The Reverend Arbo Satoun will be Celebrant. Interment will follow in Holy Trinity Cemetery, Bear Creek. Friends may call Wednesday morning at the church from 10:00am until time of Mass.
