Florence F. Papsun

Florence F. Papsun, of Mountain Top, passed away Tuesday, November 7, 2023 at Smith Health Care Ltd. Born March 20, 1923, in Wilkes-Barre, she was the daughter of the late Paul and Mary Porys Motovidlak.

Florence loved fishing with her family. She taught her grandchildren how to make pierogies and sauerkraut. She was devout in her faith and a member of St. Jude Parish, Mountain Top. Her wish was to live to 100 and she celebrated that milestone at a party with family at Smith Health Care.

She was married to Paul J. Papsun Sr. on May 13, 1959 and he was the love of her life until his passing on December 15, 1998. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Edward, and sisters, Charlotte Roman and Jean Beres, and brother-in-law, her husband's twin, Peter Papsun.

Surviving are the Loves of her Life, son, Paul Papsun and his wife, Monica; grandchildren, Christopher and Matthew; grandpuppy, Shade; sisters, Teresa Petrosky and Norma Beres of Mountain Top; her closest nieces, Arlene Bankovich, Linda Savitski, and Karen Roman; and many other nieces and nephews.

Funeral services will be held Monday at 9:30am from the Jendrzejewski Funeral Home, 21 North Meade Street, Wilkes-Barre, with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00am in St. Jude Church, Mountain Top. Interment will be in St. Mary's Maternity Cemetery, West Wyoming. Family and friends may call Sunday evening from 5:00 to 7:00pm.
